Establishing a strong connection to rewarding careers is essential for driving interest and pursuit of STEM and edtech skills for students and educators alike. By orienting classroom concepts toward these tangible pathways, STEM AC programs and resources can make learning exciting and foster relationships between education and STEM professional practice. Opportunities for educators include i-STEM Summer Institutes, a weeklong peer-to-peer professional development opportunity offered at six regional sites throughout the state, and the Externship Program, which places teachers and college/career advisors in a paid 200-hour work experience with an Idaho STEM-related business over the summer. Additional resources for educators and students include career exploration and skill development online platforms Idaho Connect and LearningBlade. Join STEM AC staff and experienced educators to learn how you can take advantage of these resources, ask clarifying questions, and hear how impactful these experiences have been to educators like you.
